Experience Bethlehem
Saturday, December 10
3:00 - 5:00 pm
This hands-on Holy Land experience will be for the whole family. You can experience what Bethlehem was like when Jesus was born.
Imagine atmosphere that will allow the whole family to experience elements of life in 1st century Bethlehem. Families will visit the Bethlehem stable, talk with Joseph and Mary and learn how God used them to bless everyone on earth. Minds will be engaged as participants visit an average Jewish home of the period.
Shopping the Bethlehem Market would have been interesting. Eyes will be opened as the market place is recreated. One merchant will show how bread was made and even give of fresh baked bread. Children have always enjoyed toys, and here, children and parents can join in making toys at the toy merchant’s area.
Try to make your own perfume and dye some material to learn how clothes were made. There will even be an area to grind some grain and another to make your own flute!
The farmers market will allow you to taste the kinds of fruit and foods they ate at that time in history. Most important of all, we will be providing a scripture verse at each one of the stations to tie all we do with the Bible's account of the birth of Jesus.
Let's do all we can to provide an event to give families a time that focuses their thoughts on the true meaning of Christmas.
